Cookie Policy
Last updated
The short version: the Pinpoint Vending app stores what it needs to keep you signed in, and almost nothing else. We do not use advertising cookies in the app, and we do not track you across other websites.
This policy covers the operator app only. Our public website, pinpoint-vending.com, uses advertising and analytics tags and is covered by its own privacy policy.
1. What these technologies are
"Cookies" are small files a website asks your browser to keep. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — do a similar job inside the browser. This policy covers all of them, whatever the label.
2. What we actually store
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-<project>-auth-token | Local storage · essential | Keeps you signed in, so you don't re-enter your password on every page. Set by our sign-in provider, Supabase. | Until you sign out, or it expires |
| fc-pending-claim | Session storage · essential | Remembers which machine you scanned if you weren't signed in yet, so the code still works after you sign in. Cleared as soon as it's used. | Until the browser tab closes |
| fc-pending-ticket | Session storage · essential | Remembers which support thread an email link pointed to, so it still opens after you sign in. Cleared as soon as it's used. | Until the browser tab closes |
| fc-demo-v1 | Local storage · essential | Holds sample data when the app is opened in demonstration mode. Never present in normal use. | Until cleared |
Stripe sets its own cookies on Stripe's pages when you connect a bank account. Those are governed by Stripe's privacy policy, not this one. The same is true of Google's pages if you sign in with Google.
3. What we don't use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies on this site.
- No third-party analytics or session-recording tools.
- No social media tracking pixels.
Some parts of a page come from other companies' servers: typefaces from Google Fonts, a code library from esm.sh, and address suggestions from Komoot while you type an address. Those requests tell them your IP address and browser, as any web request does. None of them sets a cookie through our pages.
Advertising shown on machine screens is a separate matter — nobody's browser is involved, and no cookie is set on anyone's device by a screen. What is collected around a screen is described in the Privacy Supplement.
4. Your choices
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and local storage — usually under Settings → Privacy. Because everything we store is essential to signing in, blocking it means you will not be able to stay signed in to the app.
We do not show a cookie consent banner, because we do not set non-essential cookies. If that changes, we will ask for consent before setting them.
